Meetups (or Discussion Groups or Special Interest Groups) are organized by individuals or groups and not by Sasquan.
Most Meetups are scheduled during off-times of Program – generally between 9 and 10 am or after 6:00 pm. We have a room that seats about 30 that may be available during the day. Space permitting, you can organize a discussion of your favorite Marvel superhero or have a meeting of your local club at Worldcon. Other common meet-ups include Friends of Bill W, Black Ribboners (both for fans in recovery), informal religious services and the like.
To request a time and a room for a meet-up, write to Program by July 25 and tell us the name of your group, who’s responsible for this meet-up, roughly how many people you expect, and whether you prefer a morning or an evening time slot. Note that you cannot bring food or drinks into a meet-up from outside of the Convention Center, but you can bring food bought in the Convention Center into any function room.
