On Bobbie and Going Forward

Sasquan, the Worldcon in Spokane in 2015, mourns the loss of our co-chair, Bobbie DuFault, who passed away quietly in her sleep Saturday morning.

Bobbie was not only my co-chair but was my good friend. She was the person with the vision, the spirit and the persistence to win the Worldcon bid. It is ironic that after spending so many years trying to make this dream come true, it only lasted two weeks.

Bobbie will be greatly missed. The most important thing in her life was Sasquan. And In dedication to Bobbie’s memory, the Sasquan committee is committed to making this the best possible Worldcon we can, and we will continue the work she has started. I will continue to lead Sasquan as chair, along with my three vice-chairs, Glenn Glazer, Pierre Pettinger and Mike Willmoth.
